New Details for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
A few new details to hold us over!
Nintendo revealed some new details for its anticipated 3DS title The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds during this morning’s Nintendo Direct.During the presentation, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata highlighted the differences between this new game and Zelda: A Link to the Past for Super Nintendo. The initial overworld would present the same setting as the SNES game, but the alternate world in Hyrule will be brand new. Iwata never referred to this alternate plane as the Dark World, the name originally used in LTTP, during the presentation and hinted at the existence of another Triforce.Iwata also confirmed the chronology for A Link Between Worlds and indicated that the story takes place generations after the LTTP’s story. Because of the new time period, the game will star a new, younger Link. Although it shares a common overworld with the original game, this new installment will feature all new dungeons and puzzles. Footage shown also revealed Link's ability to slip into dimensional cracks, and some sort of new hieroglyph ability represented by a different two-dimensional drawing.
