We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about Daredevil: Born Again, 1923, Reacher, Survivor, The White Lotus and more!
1 | We get that Severance’s Mark Scout needed to bungle Helly’s name, but “Heleny”? He couldn’t guess an actual name, like Helen? Or Ellie?
2 | Last week’s episode of 1923 can’t be the last we see of Jennifer Carpenter’s Marshal Mamie Fossett… can it?
3 | The White Lotus fans, do you feel cheated that we didn’t get to see Victoria have a conversation with that monk? Are we pretty sure by now that Rick’s idea of what happened to his father isn’t actually the truth? Why would Saxon and Belinda even consider going to the house of a man they know to be holding a violent grudge against them? Did you notice that Saxon and Lochlan were sporting each other’s swim trunks “the morning after”? Finally, do any White Lotus visitors ever eat anything other than fruit for breakfast?
4 | Were the “chile farmers” on this week’s Dark Winds giving Manson Family? ▼
5 | Doesn’t Kaley Cuoco’s new mystery drama sound like it could have been The Flight Attendant Season 3?
6 | NCIS’ reveal that Lily was at the scene of Eleanor Parker’s drunk-driving death + the note the ghost girl left Alden saying, “You can’t tell anyone” = what? (Had she caused the crash, maybe, by running out into the road?) Also, where is Parker’s apartment possibly located, to have this incredible a view? ▼
7 | Can we all agree that The Neighborhood should never do an episode where the A- and B-plots focus on Baby Daphne and Grover ever again?
8 | NCIS: Origins viewers, you gasped/instantly teared up, yes? ▼
9 | Does The Bachelor’s “winner” Juliana feel a little less great now that she’s seen how torn Grant was until literally the very last minute? (And how he led Litia on, according to her?) Don’t you kind of wish we were getting a Bachelorette season this year, so that Litia could get a chance to hand out the roses? And are you a little concerned about how having alums from The Golden Bachelor and Bachelorette on Bachelor in Paradise is going to work, exactly?
10 | Did Daredevil: Born Again’s Episode 6 fight sequence — in which Daredevil and Kingpin engaged in parallel, brutal slugfests — live up to the hype? Is Fisk, who just popped a hole in a jacket, going to gradually get bigger and beefier as the rest of the season/series unfolds? ▼ And with the understanding that hair grows 1/2″ per month, for how long has Adam been captive? Or does Vanessa dig a man with a mane?
11 | What was more cringe-worthy, Bold & Beautiful fans: Brooke and Taylor letting Ridge choose between them for the 100th time, or Taylor rubbing it in her rival’s face that she and their ex had recommitted to one another “in every way”? You’re not 13, just say you’re f—king, for Pete’s sake!
12 | Did Marvel’s day-long YouTube reveal of Avengers: Doomsday cast members give you Game of Thrones ice block flashbacks? ▼ And how loud wold you have screamed if a chair was revealed to have, say, the name “CHLOE BENNET”?
13 | The Irrational fans: Were you as certain as we were that Alec was going to have the scar surgery, if for no other reason than to save Jesse L. Martin all that time in the makeup chair each day?
14 | TVLine reader Scott asks, “How did Night Court leave in the continuity error in this week’s opening minutes? ▼ The Wheelers are cuffed as they come to the cafeteria window… then they’re not cuffed as they wave to Dan… and then they’re cuffed again as the glass breaks.”
15 | Did any fans of The Rookie who waited to stream it next day on Hulu get 100% spoiled by the chosen thumbnail image?
16 | Is Will Trent’s Detective Ormewood officially one of the funniest (and most endearing) characters on television? ▼
17 | Does seeing Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent lead the nominees at this year’s Canadian Screen Awards make you nostalgic for the pre-streaming era Emmys?
18 | Were you surprised that ABC allowed Abbott Elementary to have a whole subplot involving Survivor, a show on a competing network?
19 | Be honest, Survivor fans: Did you absolutely lose it during this week’s incredibly emotional Joe/Eva moment? ▼ Regardless of their beautiful connection, do you think it will hurt their games in the long run?
20 | When Chicago Med’s Dr. Lenox lets her hair down, she really lets her hair down, huh? (Those pants!)
21 | At this point, The Conners’ Dan and Louise are empty nesters… so why was there a spare mattress and pillows out in their living room at the start of Wednesday’s premiere? ▼
22 | Chicago Fire fans, did you get verklempt when the entire firehouse showed up for Monica’s funeral?
23 | Does Jessica Biel require that every crime drama she does have at least one scene in which her character is covered in someone else’s blood? ▼
24 | Grey’s Anatomy fans, who do we think is going to break the rules of Teddy and Owen’s new open marriage first, her or him? And how much are you hoping that it’s her so that maybe we can keep Sophia Bush around long-term as Cass?
25 | Yes, Reacher’s Zachary Beck is a Man of a Certain Age, but even so, the music at his birthday party — a band singing covers of “Give It Up,” “Get Down Tonight” and “Dancing in the Moonlight” — was pretty lousy, right? And is this the first time Chekhov’s Gun only fired caps? ▼
26 | For the love of everything that is holy, can TV shows please stop showing the vomit when a character throws up? 🤮

8: Huge gasp here. Simple, poignant moment that gave us a huge glimpse in Mary Jo’s character.
22. No. I felt angry from 51 continually breaking boundaries under ”we’re family” thing. Chief made his wishes clear, and they should’ve respected it. may be just 2 of them show up to support him without disregarding his wishes. Stop forcing people to grief the way it suit 51.
24. it’s really disturbing rooting for cheating and broke the marriage and it’s clear Teddy has feeling for cass.
this marriage is doomed from the beginning but honesty I wonder if wlw is the only reason people rooting for them.
12. Marvel has done so dirty to some official MCU characters, that at this point I’m fine with them not acknowledging the existence of any of the characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
26 – Yes please! I often think, I don’t need the warnings at the start of an episode that it will have smoking/coarse language/nudity … I need a puke warning so I know not to watch while eating dinner.
15. No, actually, it was TV Line’s thumbnail in my Feedly widget that spoiled it for me.
#3- Rick’s father is not dead, he’s married to the co-owner of the resort (the Thai lady).
14. “The Wheelers are cuffed as they come to the cafeteria window… then they’re not cuffed.” To be fair, Mr. Data is exceptionally strong.
16: Yes, it was funny to see Detective Ormewood wrestle his huge shoulders into a narrow air duct and risk getting stuck. But why did he even agree to do it, when the much smaller Angie was right there?
24. Open or closed, Teddy and Owen’s marriage issues will continue to be super-annoying.
7. It was fine
26 AGREED!!! PLEASE STOP!!!!
10. It was needed, to say the pace has been slow so far is an understatement. Probably a bit of both on the hair though, Vanessa goes for the anti-Fisk plus IIRC he was said to be an artist so having long hair is a bit of a trope there.
.
12. I’m sure there will be cameos and easter eggs to come, of the AoS cast though only Clark Gregg would (IMO) merit a big reveal in the casting video.
#19 – I can’t imagine the contestants allowing either Eva or Joe into the finals. And I’d be bummed by that. However, they have the adoration of show fans everywhere and will always be stars of one of the most beautiful scenes ever on the show so IMHO, they’ve already won. Plus, Sia is still out there somewhere…..
18 | Abbott Elementary & Survivor. Not only competing networks, but they go head to head against one another on Wednesday nights. So, yeah, very weird. I remember 30 Rock had a funny Amazing Race plot. They were different networks, but at least not same time slot.
16. YES! And he’s hot as hell l, too!
22. Nah… expected it all along
24. Absolutely not! Cass gets on my nerves.
I wasn’t a fan of the actor who plays Ormewood when he was on Quantico, but he is shining this season on Will Trent, with some of the funniest lines and reactions. I find myself rewinding several times to watch them over and over.
19) During Jeff’s “interview” of Joe and Eva after the challenge, he made reference that one of them may have to blindside the other later in the game. I suspect that comment was left in the show (ie: not edited out) for a reason. I doubt they will both make it to the final 3, but I think Eva has a stronger chance to win; even Star has become her fan and they were ready to vote each other out before. The group also respects Joe, but it will be easier to vote him out before the final TC. If Eva is at the final TC then she wins. Otherwise, I think things are looking good for Kamilla or Kyle to win.
1) I though he meant Helen E., not Heleny. What the hell is Heleny even..?
In the Elon Musk era there are no funny names.
#6. Here’s my theory about Parker’s mother and Lily, especially given that the news article Parker read said that there was no indication of his mother braking. Parker’s mother was helping with a secret investigation with Lily’s father. Lily and Parker became friends, but saw something they weren’t supposed to see (thus the “can’t tell anyone”). But Parker told his mother, and someone found out, and tampered with the brakes, causing his mother to crash (that is, she was murdered). And until NCIS tells me differently, I’m sticking with this.
2. We had Lawmen: Bass Reeves, now give Carpenter’s character her own show!
13. Absolutely. Getting rid of his scars would have made the most sense.
16. Contrary to my usual attitude, I can’t find a single bad thing to say about the whole show! So I also agree with that!
26. I fully agree!
I’m all in for Jennifer Carpenter’s character Mamie Fossett having her own show. That would more interesting to me than some of the suggested spin-offs. The respect she was shown by her co-workers and the Sheriff, plus she talks before shooting (a rarity it seems during that time) would be so interesting during a time when women didn’t get much say, if any, away from the home.
26. Yes, please. Needles too.
6. I can’t place it. Any DC dwellers got ideas?
The nominations for Law & Order Toronto only served to remind me what a downhill-nosedive the regular Law and Order and Law & Order SVU have taken. When the new law and order came back, and it was awful, as it still is, it seemed to drag SVU down with it.
And something is very off with the writing. It seems that now they have scenario writers. A writer who doesn’t actually write the episode but comes up with the basic idea for the episode. Then they hand it off to the so-called utility writers. Who then actually write the episode. I’m convinced that’s what’s happening because it seems like that’s what happening based on the writing and the production quality and the topics of the episodes.
Yeah, the Rookie/Hulu thumbnail was bush league.
16. Detective Ormewood is such a great character… Every character on Will Trent Is interesting! Loving the roommates!
Totally agree with you about Ormewood. Great character
Say #26 louder for the people in the back!! Sincerely, a TV lover with emetophobia 😭
26. Yes! 911 this week didn’t show the guy puking, but then showed his puke??? They could have easily not lowered that camera while Eddie was cleaning that.
