Mather Museum Cleveland Museum of Contemporary ArtThe Cleveland Museum of Contemporary Art, located behind the Cleveland Playhouse on Carnegie Avenue, hosts eleven temporary exhibitions each year, featuring emerging international artists as well as notable artists, in all genres, from Northeast Ohio. The Exhibits: The Museum of Contemporary Art features a annual schedule of eleven temporary exhibits, featuring emerging Northeast Ohio artists as well as national and international masters. MOCA does not have a permanent collection, thus guaranteeing that each time you visit, you are assured of seeing something new. Special Events: In addition to its ambitious annual exhibition schedule, MOCA hosts a series of lectures, workshops, and classes, highlighting local artists as well as international known masters, of all modern art genres. MOCA in the Community: The Museum of Contemporary Art supports the Northeast Ohio community that supports them. The museum offers FREE admission to its exhibits, lectures, and most special events for Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University Students. (CWRU students need to get a museum pass from the Case Student Access Services Office.) In addition, the museum sponsors several emerging local artists each year with grant money and exhibition space. Visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art: Visitors to the Museum of Contemporary Art offers ample parking in the Cleveland Playhouse lot for $7.50 per vehicle. The second floor museum is completely wheelchair accessible. Make sure to visit the interesting museum shop after touring the galleries. (The museum does not have any food or beverage services.) Smaller and more intimate is the Glidden House (check rates), at University Circle. It's a charming bed and breakfast inn created out of an historic mansion and is near to other museums and attractions.
