We love our family. Most of our ancestors are of Pennsylvania Dutch extraction. Some were "Gay Dutch", i.e. Luthers and Reformed. Some were "Plain Dutch", i.e. Amish, Mennonite and Brethren. But whatever the case, they were a hard working, God fearing people whom we revere and love. They made it possible for us to be here today. We dedicate these pages to those that went before us. Thank you!!

About the FamilyHart Online Database and our Policies:
We have been doing genealogy for years. Our particular brand of genealogy research focuses on identifying our imigrant ancestors and then collecting all of the descendants of that individual. In so doing we have collected over half a million people in our database. Along the way we have obtained many non-related collateral lines as well. We hope that you find enjoyment here. We encourage you to use information in our database as you see fit for genealogical purposes. Please note that facts cannot be copyrighted, and facts should be shared freely. Please give credit however for where you have obtained the information, so that others may know how to recreate the source information.
You are welcome and encouraged to make additions and corrections to the database. This can be done by sending your information to Don & Jeanine at FamilyHart@aol.com . Typically, only those that are related by blood or marriage to Don or Jeanine will be added to the database. Additional non-related collateral information generally will not be added to the database unless it is significant to those families already in the database as determined by Don & Jeanine.
Any family information sent to FamilyHart implies permission to use that information online without limitation for genealogical purposes. Public domain information does include names, dates, and places. Privacy law does not apply to public domain information. Our practice however is: Dates and places for living individuals will not be intentionally displayed online for those individuals born after 1930 (Note: 1930 Census is publicly available). We do maintain all obtained information in our offline database for those born after 1930. Just to be clear, we DO include names for those born after 1930 in our online database, just NOT their birth dates and places, etc.
Please do not send us information that you do not want online. We will not treat any information sent to us as private information, contrary to any stipulations sent with this information. We will not filter your sent-genealogy information for you. If we find information on the Internet of interest, we will include this in our database as we see fit. We will not remove names already in the database. Our policy is also not to respond to these type of requests.
Please note that one does not have privacy rights for name, birth, marriage, and death information. We are in full compliance with U.S. Law. Our servers and our email addresses reside in the U.S. and are not subject to laws outside of U.S. jurisdiction.
ADVICE: When any financial institution or any other entity asks you for your mother's maiden name for identification purposes, give them a ficticious name or request another method of identification. These companies really don't care if you give them a false name or not. All they want is an easy-to-remember code phrase to identify you. Mother's maiden names are too easy to come by these days to use for identification purposes. ID theft is a very real thing. Please do not use publicly avalable information such as that contained in this database for identification purposes in verifying your identity for online and offline accounts. To do otherwise is not prudent in today's world.
