Matthew Vaughn‘s Kingsman: The Secret Service has stylishly kicked its way past $400 million worldwide.
The Colin Firth-starring film, which first hit theaters over the four-day Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day weekend in February, has earned $275.2 million internationally and $126.6 million domestically for a total $401.8 million.
The film, from 20th Century Fox based on the comic book The Secret Service by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar, centers on a spy organization that recruits an unrefined street kid (Taron Egerton) into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program.
Fox’s stylish actioner, made for $80 million, is a cultural phenomenon in Asia, earning north of $74.7 million in China and $46.9 million in South Korea.
Globally, the film is now seated as the No. 26 R-rated film of all time, ahead of Wolf of Wall Street and behind Prometheus. It will pass Prometheus both internationally and worldwide when The Kingsman opens in Japan later this year.
And there’s probably more Kingsman on the way. Fox is brewing a sequel, but at this time a deal has yet to be sealed with Vaughn.
