A 54-year-old man was stabbed to death at his Bronx home, and police have taken a man believed to be his stepson into custody, cops and sources said Tuesday.
Police were called to Craeg Robinson’s apartment building on Lyon Ave. near Zerega Ave. in Westchester Square at 7:03 p.m. on Monday. Robinson was suffering from a stab wound to the torso, cops said.
Robinson’s stepson, who lives in the same apartment and is in his 20s, fled the scene, according to police sources.
When officers arrived Robinson was in critical condition. Medics rushed him to Jacobi Medical Center, but he could not be saved.
Shortly after the stabbing, police nabbed a suspect about a block away from Robinson’s apartment, though it was not immediately clear whether this individual was the stepson. The suspect was later hospitalized to undergo a likely psychiatric evaluation, according to police sources.
Charges against him were not immediately filed.
Before his death, Robinson had a warrant out for his arrest, according to sources. He had 21 prior arrests in the city.
