Having thrown her share of wild parties and spent time in space as imagined by David Bowie, pop peacock Katy Perry goes for something a little more somber with the music video for her potential record-breaking next single, “The One That Got Away”. Directed by Floria Sigismondi (who also helmed “E.T.”), the clip sees Perry play an older, still attractive-despite-the-heavy-makeup version of herself reflecting on lost love, with lots of romantic moments that conjure up imagery from other past videos like “Teenage Dream”. In the end, it’s a Johnny Cash’s “You Are My Sunshine” that sets the mood for a paranormal reunion between Granny Perry and her dead boyfriend. Check it out below.

A seven-minute extended version of “The One That Got Away” will be shown exclusively at select advance screenings for the upcoming Michelle Williams film My Week With Marilyn, which opens in theaters on November 23rd. Head here for a list showtimes and participating theaters.

Perry’s sophomore album, Teenage Dream, is out now.
