January’s UFC on FOX 14 event in Sweden has three new additions, officials today announced.
They include light heavyweights Nikita Krylov (17-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC) vs. Stanislav Nedkov (12-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC), heavyweights Konstantin Erokhin (9-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs. Viktor Pesta (9-1 MMA 0-1 UFC), and lightweights Yan Cabral (12-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) vs. Mairbek Taisumov (22-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC).
UFC on FOX 14 takes place Jan. 24 at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm. The main card, including the Alexander Gustafsson vs. Anthony Johnson headliner, airs on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
All three new bouts are likely to be part of the prelims.
Krylov has alternated wins and losses over his past seven fights, which included UFC wins via knockout over Walt Harris and Cody Donovan. The 22-year-old Ukrainian fighter and former heavyweight now meets Nedkov, who opened his career with a 12-0 mark before a loss to Thiago Silva (which ultimately was overturned when Silva failed a drug test due to marijuana). Most recently, the 32-year-old Bulgarian suffered a TKO loss to Tom Watson in February 2013.
Erokhin, a 32-year-old Russian, makes his UFC debut while riding a nine-fight winning streak that includes victories over big-show vets Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Brett Rogers, Richard Odoms and Dave Huckaba. He now meets Pesta, a 24-year-old Czech who opened his career with a 9-0 mark before signing with the UFC and suffering a decision loss to Ruslan Magomedov in May.
Cabral made his UFC debut in 2013 and scored a decision victory over David Mitchell before losing on points to Zak Cummings in May. However, the 31-year-old Brazilian rebounded in October with a submission victory over Naoyuki Kotani. He meets Taisumov, a 26-year-old Russian who recently rebounded from a March loss to Michel Prazeres with a TKO win over Marcin Bandel. He now has 10 knockouts and 10 submissions in 22 career wins.
