Hull manager Phil Brown has been fined £2,500 and warned as to his future conduct by the Football Association following a charge of improper conduct.

Brown and Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear were sent to the stands after a touchline row during the FA Cup clash at St James' Park on 14 January.

Brown admitted the charge and requested a personal hearing, but escaped a ban.

Kinnear is currently recovering from heart surgery, and as such his hearing will be scheduled for a later date.

The incident in question arose following a late challenge by Newcastle's Fabio Coloccini on Hull's Daniel Cousin, which angered Brown.

Brown and Kinnear squared up to each other and were subsequently sent to the stands by referee Phil Dowd.

Hull won the match 1-0 courtesy of a Cousin goal eight minutes from time.

A statement from the FA read: "At a regulatory commission hearing today, Hull City manager Phil Brown was warned as to future conduct and fined £2,500.

"Brown admitted a charge of improper conduct relating to a touchline confrontation involving himself and Joe Kinnear during an FA Cup match at St James' Park on 14 January."
