A polytype of Cualstibite The original name cyanophyllite (given by K. Walenta in 1981), from the Greek for blue (κυανός) and a leaf (φύλλον), in allusion to the color and habit, was discredited in 2012 (IMA 12-B) during the definition of the hydrotalcite supergroup (Mills et al., 2012), since it was recognised as a polytype of cualstibite.
Cyanophyllite mineral data, information about Cyanophyllite, its properties and worldwide locations.
An extremely rare secondary antimony mineral closely related to zincalstibite (zinc analogue of cualstibite). Two polytypes are known, cualstibite-1T (trigonal) and cualstibite-1M (monoclinic, formerly called cyanophyllite). The latter is the more common polytype.
Dec 5, 2012 · The rare secondary mineral cyanophyllite was originally described from the famous Clara baryte and fluorite mine, Black Forest, Germany (Walenta 1981). It forms tiny greenish blue platelets, with a perfect cleavage parallel to the platy face.

The crystal structure of the rare secondary mineral cualstibite-1 M (formerly cyanophyllite), originally reported to have the chemical formula 10CuO·2Al 2 O 3 ·3Sb 2 O 3 ·25H 2 O and orthorhombic symmetry, was solved from single-crystal intensity data (Mo- Kα X-radiation, CCD area detector, 293 K, 2θ max = 80) collected on a twinned ...
