Update on.. SNOWBIRD!

This frosty goddess is one of the most iconic members of Canada's Premiere Super-Heroes, Alpha Flight. She served with the team throughout its earliest days and in some truly strange stories. But when she was killed, her death was one of Alpha Flight's greatest tragedies and paved the way for revolutionary character development for one of her teammates. Following her relatively unspectacular return to life, she rejoined her teammates in defending their great nation. One of our most out-of-date Spotlights, since our last release of this character, she has had arguably her greatest storyline ever - and it happened away from the rest of Alpha Flight! Update on... NEMESIS!

When we first released our Spotlight on Alpha Flight's resident anarchist some years back, we showcased this mysterious character as the original writers intended - that Nemesis was one person who appeared at various different times in Alpha Flight's history. That's despite what one of the Marvel Handbooks inferred. That resource indicated that the character was actually three different women - Isobel St. Ives, Jane Thorne and Amelia Weatherly. When a new Nemesis appeared during the FALL OF X, fact-pages in the latest Alpha Flight series confirmed, in-universe, that in fact the Spirit of Retribution was a mantle held by numerous women. And so, we now present our updated Spotlight on... NEMESIS!

Spotlight On... GILDED LILY!

Today's brand-new character article Spotlights a very unique and intriguing villainess from the early days of Alpha Flight. This vengeful man-eater became a surprising disciple of Diablo, and eventually unlocked the secrets of immortality. But her quiet life of longevity was suddenly upended when Canada's Premiere Super-Heroes sought to make her mansion their home, unaware it was still occupied. Still, the arrival of these members of Alpha Flight also provided this intelligent woman with the chance of being reborn in a new, youthful body...did she succeed? Find all this out and more, in our Spotlight on... GILDED LILY!

Update on... SASQUATCH (EXILES)

Wait a minute, didn't Heather Hudson just get a spotlight update? Keeping with the theme of ladies of Alpha Flight, today we do a Spotlight refresh on a ten year old article. This alternate reality version of Heather Hudson / Sasquatch has not appeared since her last update in 2014, however a change back to her codename and placement next to her 616 counterpart just felt right. If you've never read up on this nuanced alternate reality version of Heather, give it a look. Maybe one day this Exiles mainstay will return as...Sasquatch (Exiles)!

Update On... VINDICATOR II!

Kicking off another round of Quickfire Updates, this week we're focusing on the Ladies of Alpha Flight! Canada's greatest hero has undergone a lot of changes in her life. Secretary. Mild-mannered housewife. Leader of Canada's Premiere Super-Heroes. Florist. Government agent. Dead. Alive. Murderess. Heather McNeil Hudson has seen and done a lot for sure. She's made mistakes, but she's always had the wellbeing of the citizens of Canada at the forefront of everything she has done. And when the Canadian government sided with the deadly Orchis to ban mutants from Canada, Heather vowed to protect these mutants...as Fate's Angel...the Spirit of Retribution... NEMESIS (...aka VINDICATOR II)!

Profile On... STROBE!

With her iconic, metallic, one-piece swimsuit, Juliana Worthing, a creation of Rob Liefield, was clearly the inspiration behind designer Thierry Mugler's iconic haute couture show in 1995, which recently received spotlight again when Zendaya wore an archival piece to the London premiere of Dune Part Two.... Okay, so we don't know that, but seriously look it up! There are serious design overlaps. This mutant served Stryfe as a minion and occasional commander, only to fade into obscurity by the end of the 1990s, her true potential as a villain never quite realized. Read here about Strobe.
