I have first edition, but wanted 4th edition covering another 15+ years of music. Book condition was as advertised, maybe even better, and delivered in less than a week. Very happy with this.

"Billboard's Hottest Hot 100 Hits" is one of the most outstanding compilations of music chart data ever published. The author, Fred Bronson, is nationally recognized as one of most credible authorities regarding Billboard chart data.

This book is a "must have" for radio stations and music collectors. A tremendous amount of research and work went into making this book possible. The entire "rock and roll era" is covered, all the way up to 2006. I consider this book a "collector's item" as well as a valuable music research tool.

Great lists of music, especially the decade. The way some of the data is compiled (by calendar year) skews a lot of the data. There should be a list of singles and artists with points total and # of weeks in top 100, top 40, top 10. that would help with the fact that you really explain the fact that not a single Beatles song made the top 50 (because they didn't live on the chart as long) while one-off's by Lee Ann Rimes placed super-high. I mean, I love "How Do I Live?" but it never even topped the charts. They should award bonus points for weeks at #1 and weeks in the top 10 maybe or something...

This is not just an excellent read it is a great "reference" work. For those who have any of Joel Whitburn's tomes this is a fine complementary book. Who knew that Phil Spector's most successful song as a producer was "My Sweet Lord/Isn't It A Pity" while John Mellencamp's "Pink Houses" turned out to be only his 9th best seller. For those who are into this kind of "info"-don't take this too seriously-there are about another million similar bits in this book. I use it often.

I found the book interesting but it caused me to seek out a book of like kind dealing with much more Black artists/music and their music from the "vaults". Yet, I still think I got a good deal on the book as a music officianado.

I got a new iPod and this book helped me fill it. It is a walk down memory lane to see Billboard's Top 100 from 1955 on. With the internet, you can pull up any old song instantly and relive the moment. As you work through the years, I bet you will identify 100's of songs you must have on your iPod.

Be warned, all this can become obsessive, but what a nice obsession.

As you would expect, a great reference work. It has helped me to make my community radio program much more interesting as I can give the listeners more info about the track being played.
