Distinctive feature: Held in the WISE building at CAT the diploma runs for a continuous 18 months, saving 6 months on the standard 24 month Part II course. Attendance is residential, one week every month and a two week summer school. Alongside the core teaching body, modules lectures, tutorials and practical sessions are taught by visiting architects and industry professionals.
Director comment: The course offers a unique blend of design and academic study together with practical experience. Students are equipped with the knowledge and vocational skills that are becoming increasingly important in the architectural industry.
Career opportunities: Students go on to work complete their Part III qualifications in other locations. Following the course CAT students have gone on to work on projects all over the world from Glasgow to Gambia. Graduates are also working in architectural practices throughout the UK.
