Carrie Fisher is in negotiations to appear in a remake of 1983 horror film The House On Sorority Row.

The remake, Sorority Row, follows a group of students who try to cover up a death after a prank goes wrong, only to be stalked and picked off by a serial killer.

Fisher would play the sorority's house mother should the negotiations prove successful.

Samurai Girl star Jamie Chung and Audrina Patridge from The Hills are confirmed to have joined the cast. Also appearing are Rumer Willis, Julian Morris, Leah Pipes, Margo Harshman and Briana Evigan.

Filming is due to get underway in Pittsburgh next month.
