Wild Cards: Romancing the Egg (2024)
Take Two?
I couldn't resist. Clearly Wild Cards is most closely based on the short lived series Take Two. ....and Take Two was from the same team that bought us Castle.
The finale was actually pretty good. I had low expectations for this series after seeing the trailer but I actually enjoyed Season 1. It's nothing heavy. I believe it's correctly branded a comedy, crime & drama.
Well this episode revolves around a multi-million dollar egg. It's a bit far fetched, at times, to see Max calling the shots but it's a TV show. We do witness deception, betrayal of trust and in the end some big news for Ellis before the screen goes black.
That would set the stage for a Season 2. Could Ellis ever trust Max again? Would Max go back to jail? Many options for the writers.
The View: Kathy Griffin/Cristiana Dell'Anna (2024)
Cristiana Dell'Anna Was Charming
Actually the movie Christiana Dell'Anna starred in, Cabrini, is an excellent movie. Which I'd highly recommend.
Sadly Kathy Griffin completely ruined the entire show. She did not look stable throughout her appearance. All the plastic surgery has taken its toll on her to boot.
It's hard to believe she defended her decision to post the picture years ago wear she is holding President Trump's head. I believe you know the picture I'm talking about. In Kathy's own words she claims that's what comedians do?
Sorry but I disagree. This was one of the most uncomfortable segments of The View I've witnessed.....and that says a lot.
Frasier: Roe to Perdition (2003)
Roe or Caviar
Actually it really doesn't matter what was used in this show. This would be my favorite episode from Season 10. There were quite a few laugh out loud bits here.
Also, the absurdity of Martin trying to do the right thing and return the extra money he received through the ATM. Hard to believe his failure to return the money continued to turn into a greater windfall. That's the B-plot with Martin and Daphne.
The main plot focusses on Frasier & Niles acquiring some excellent "black-market" caviar for a classy party. Caviar at less than half the price of the retail store from a Russian boat. What could possibly go wrong? Quite a bit.
An excellent episode that would be in my personal top 10 episodes for the series.
Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)
Survival Instinct
As you can tell by the rating I really enjoyed this movie. Part of the charm was there was no political or social agenda in this movie. Very rare in 2022. For the record I saw the film 3 times.
Mild spoiler... Who was responsible for Chase's death? Was it Kya or Tate or a mutual acquaintance? Well you have to watch the movie to find out.
Even though the idea that a child could survive in the swamp selling mussels to survive is highly improbable. It doesn't take away from what is an excellent story.
I've seen Daisy Edgar-Jones in a few different projects. I believe this is her best work to date. The supporting cast is superb as well.
The theatre was still packed for my 3rd visit. Almost a month after the release of the film.
