Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is officially open for business in the Landing area of Disney Springs — the re-imagined Downtown Disney.

The aviation-themed bar is named and themed after Indiana Jones’ pilot in the 1981 film “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”

Here are three first impressions from the Hangar Bar.

1. Theme and decor: If you’re a Raiders’ fan or simply a fan of aviation, you’ll be in Heaven. The main room isn’t huge, but there’s more room and seating than another new and popular bar at Walt Disney World — Trader Sam’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. There’s also a large patio, complete with another bar and seating on a docked boat named Reggie (after Jock’s pet snake in the film).

Like many restaurants at Disney, the wait staff will play up the theme, using lines like “we no longer accept artifacts” when you ask to close your tab. And if you order Antidote (one of the non-alcoholic drinks), they will say something to the effect of “we hope this makes you feel better.”

2. Food and drinks: At its heart, the Hangar Bar is just that, a bar. The limited food menu includes just nine appetizers ($8-$15), ranging from traditional bar fare like sliders, brats and pretzels to some more sophisticated dishes like goat cheese-stuffed dates and fried calamari flatbread.

The drinks are what shine, though. Jock’s offers bottled and draft beer, cider, wine and 16 signature libations (along with four non-alcoholic drinks). One of the most popular pours on opening day was Reggie’s Revenge (again, named after Jock’s snake) — Florida Cane ‘Orlando Orange’ Vodka, Midori Melon Liqueur, white cranberry juice and fresh lime juice. The neon colored concoction is on display in a large container on the main bar. Many of the cocktails are available in souvenir glasses or mugs. The average signature drink will set you back around 10 bucks.

3. Easter eggs: There are tons of discrete and hidden items around the bar that pay tribute to Disney properties like Indiana Jones, Star Wars and the defunct Adventurers Club. Be sure to check out the “lost and found” section by the bathrooms and look through the detailed log book (menu) for references.
