Mainz expect to keep Gruda despite Bayern and Leverkusen links, reports Sky
The 2023/24 season was a breakthrough campaign for Brajan Gruda, who managed to nail down a starting spot for Mainz.
Reports have already linked the 20-year-old with the next step, with Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen among his suitors.
However, Mainz expect Gruda to stay beyond the summer, according to Sky Germany, who claims that there are no concrete offers for the 20-year-old and that the Bundesliga outfit haven't discussed a price tag for the player.
Gruda was invited to train with the German national team ahead of Euro 2024 and impressed until he was forced to return home due to an injury.
Speaking at the national team camp, he admitted that he's dreaming of a move to Bayern, but also stressed the importance of regular playing time.
"If I don't play for a new club, it would destroy me. Eventually there will be enough money, so right now it's just important that I get a lot of playing time and continue to develop," he said.
The young attacking midfielder scored four goals and provided three assists in 29 appearances for Mainz in the 2023/24 season.
