IllogiNews:Floating eye sighted off New Jersey coast

A floating eye, sighted off the New Jersey coast last Tuesday, has still not been given a satisfactory explanation. The government's initial denial that the eye belonged to Big Brother, and was reporting illicit beach activity to the NSA, has been questioned on a number of grounds. Similarly the statements by Cult members that it can't be Cthulhu rising "because R'lyeh isn't anywhere near New Jersey" are doubted by many[1].
Initial speculation, announced with much excitement, was that the eye was a bit of antique detritus from an abend dump caused by a machine check #12455213 due to a loop cache overflow in the IBM 360/95 at ATT Labs back before they became SCO, and that someone had been playing Rogue at the time.
A far more reasonable explanation, however, is that the eye simply washed away from one of the many beachside garbage dumps that are maintained by the Mafia north of Atlantic City.
