Philip Hedley was a British theatre director. He was Artistic Director of Theatre Royal Stratford East for a quarter of a century, running the East London venue from 1979 to 2004. Prior to that, he had been assistant to Joan Littlewood and Gerry Raffles at Stratford East. [1]

Before his move to London, he ran the Lincoln Theatre Royal and the Midlands Arts Theatre Company for a number of years.

He died in January 2024.[2]
