Mont Choungui is a volcano in the southern part of the island of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean. It is the second highest point of the island at 593 metres (1,946 ft) after Mont Bénara, although some claim it is the highest.[1][2] [3] It forms a very distinctive mark on the landscape and is visible from far out to sea.
