Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK), qualifying for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday. Soon after RCB’s victory, Bengaluru residents came out on the streets and celebrated the moment.
In a now-viral video shared by the official handle of RCB on X, residents can be seen blocking the roads, burning crackers and dancing on the streets. The two-minute-long video opens with Bengaluru cops managing the crowd as fans continue to cheer for the team and wave RCB’s flags. “This was at 1:30 am tonight… This is what makes it all the more special. We have the best fans in the world and we’re so proud of it.”

The video garnered over 7,21,000 views and several reactions on X. A user, reacting to the video, wrote, “Thank you admin for posting this. You owned all those ranting against RCB fans today.” Another fan commented, “Team came here at this stage of qualifying just because of these fans, fans love is really incredible!”

Virat Kohli’s RCB beat CSK by 27 runs, clinching a spot in the 2024 IPL Playoffs. Rachin Ravindra played an excellent hand in the chase of 219 for CSK combined with cameos from Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni in the end. However, the five-time champions fell short by 10 runs.
