Clark County firefighters responded to two destructive structure fires in different parts of the valley today, according to a news release from the county.

Rescuers first responded to a fire at about 5:11 p.m. at a 415 Greenbriar Townhouse Way residence with smoke and flames initially showing from the first-floor patio of the townhome.

The fire eventually spread to a second-floor balcony and attic, the release stated.

Two firefighters sustained minor injuries and were treated on scene, but they did not go to the hospital.

Nine people were displaced because of the fire, the release stated.

The fire was determined to have started on the balcony, but the cause is under investigation.

Responders then rushed to a fire at another townhome 5:19 p.m. at 6720 Oak Valley Drive.

The fire spread to the attic and then the adjacent unit’s attic, the release stated.

Firefighters found no victims at the scene, and no injuries were reported in the second blaze.

Four people were displaced and received assistance from the Red Cross.

The fire was determined to have started in the garage, but the cause is under investigation.
