Biografi
[sunting | sunting sumber]Beliau mendapat inspirasi pada zaman remaja daripada lukisan kakaknya dan komik Kazuo Umezu kemudiannya menjadikannya berminat dalam melukis komik seram sendiri. Walau bagaimanapun, selepas sahaja tamat pengajian, beliau melatih sebagai juruteknik pergigian, dan sehingga awal 90-an he memalsukan kerjaya doktor giginya dengan meningkatnya hobinya yang berjaya — sehingga terpilih sebagai pemenang berprestij Hadiah Umezu untuk manga seram.
