‘SOUTH PARK’ NO LARK AT B’KLYN COLLEGE

Oh my God! He teaches Kenny!

For Brian Dunphy, an adjunct at CUNY’s Brooklyn College, the Comedy Central cartoon “South Park” is the potty-mouthed inspiration for a college course called “South Park and Political Correctness.”

“It has the pulse of America more than anything else,” said Dunphy, 29, who started the 14-week class in the TV and radio department in September. “It’s proof that you can learn from the most unlikely places.”

Scattered throughout the offbeat show are “important messages” on “very relevant topics,” from assisted suicide to religion, Dunphy argued.

“Sometimes you watch and you think, ‘This is ridiculous,’ ” Dunphy said. “But by the end, without the audience even realizing it, they’re making a point.”

The syllabus calls for discussions on religion, war and assisted suicide, accompanied by academic readings.

“I think the best way to reach students is to make them laugh,” Dunphy said. “Once they are paying attention, the discussion is very lively.”
