Description

VisualEditor is a project to create a reliable, full-featured rich-text or "visual" HTML editor for the Web. Though VisualEditor itself is an HTML editor, it is integrated into platforms for use there, primary in MediaWiki-General with the VisualEditor-MediaWiki integration, used in conjunction with the Parsoid parsing service to provide the HTML+RDFa.

Our projects are arranged as follows:

  • VisualEditor – Anything related to VisualEditor, including related extensions.

At a conservative estimate, we've got somewhere in the realm of 19k pages on en.wp missing some alt text. I've added a request that would have the impact of tightening that number.

Blgh, came across another in the wild from 2017 (now fixed). It's really a pernicious problem to be inserting empty alt attributes, or not clearing deleted text from an alt field, when a page is edited. Probably in most cases in the mainspace, this is an undesirable.

I think this is because line numbering is disabled. It should be enabled for anywhere CM6 is enabled. The above patch makes that change to Beta.

DLynch added a comment to T370747: "The provided authentication token is either expired or invalid" when editing a temporary accounts wiki with mobile VisualEditor as an anon user.

If it's mobile-only, it's simpler than @matmarex was worried about, because DesktopArticleTarget isn't in the picture. Instead, EditorOverlayBase.onSaveComplete in MobileFrontend and ArticleTarget.saveComplete in VE are stepping on each other's toes and both doing a redirect uncritically. It used to not matter very much, because ArticleTarget only redirected on new-page-creation, and a double-redirect there wasn't awful, but now there's this new condition...

Tacsipacsi placed T324422: FlaggedRevs sometimes recognizes a smaller number of pending revisions than the reality up for grabs.
