One evening they decided to get ahead of her, and accordingly stole out of the drawing room into the library, but they could not shake Aunty. She soon discovered their absence and followed. Then Kingston had an idea. Right under Aunty's eyes he wrote a message on his cuff telling Virginia to have her maid dress in one of her evening gowns and James, the butler, slip on a full dress suit. Aunty was near-sighted and would take the two servants for them. This was soon done and James and the maid took the places of Kingston and Virginia in the library, while the two sweethearts found a cozy nook in the conservatory. There is a whole lot of comedy when Aunty finally addressed the supposed lovers on the subject of the lateness of the hour. Poor James was almost at his wits' end and finally attracted Kingston's attention by throwing one of his slippers across the court. The lovers then quickly resumed their former position in the library and a moment later Kingston bade Aunty and Virginia good night. Written by
