    Interesting video that came past in my recommendations: bolting a standard 360° camera on top of a higher-end professional rig allows the path through physical space to be mapped automatically and imported into Blender or similar software, because the 360 footage always has a significant number of detectable waypoints in view. The difference in handling sharp movements, occlusion, etc. seems significant compared to just using a GoPro for the same job.

    It strikes me as a pretty cool way of applying advances in photogrammetry to the real creative process in a non-gimmicky way, and given that it’s a sponsored video I liked the way he started by pretty much saying “I’m not going to pretend the consumer features are much use to me, but the device itself actually has a place in my workflow beyond what the manufacturer intended”. Unfortunately I’m guessing Insta360 didn’t approve, because he then does spend the second half of the video semi-believably gushing about how his boss used more footage from that than the A camera, but the first 10 minutes were impressive and looked genuine!
