Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat: It's Owaisi's legacy vs Madhavi's dare

HYDERABAD: All eyes are on Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency where K Madhavi Latha of the BJP has challenged the supremacy of four-term sitting MP and AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi.
The talk in the political circles is that irrespective of who wins, this LS election has given BJP a new face and a woman leader in Madhavi Latha in the Old City and the state.
Though new to politics, Madhavi Latha played to the gallery with her words and actions, including the alleged symbolic arrow gesture at a mosque which caused a furore. She even eclipsed firebrand BJP MLA from Goshamahal T Raja Singh and other top BJP leaders with her campaign against the AIMIM and its supremo Asaduddin Owaisi.
Her aggressive approach and rapport with the party's base has led to speculation that BJP may pick her for Rajya Sabha even if she fails in LS poll debut.
While the Congress fielded Mohammed Sameer Waliullah and BRS nominated G Srinivas Yadav, it was the battle between Owaisi and Madhavi which raised the political temperature. Political observers said polling percentage will play a crucial role in deciding the fate of the candidates in this seat .
"You may like or dislike me, but come out and vote," Asaduddin said.
