Often, there is so much waste paper collected at home and then just thrown away. But, people forget that so much can be done by reusing and repurposing it. Here are some simple ways to put the old papers to use and add them to the home decor.

While paper alone can cut and tear, paper mache bowls can easily be turned into bowls. Tear the paper into small pieces and soak them in a mixture of water and glue. Then shape it around a balloon and thicken it with layers. Once dry, pop the balloon and the bowls are ready.

Creating paper beads is an easy way to repurpose old paper. Simply cut the paper into long, triangular strips, and roll them tightly around a toothpick. Then, glue the end and let it dry. Once dried up, paint it and then hang them from threads on walls or around other decor.

With glossy paper that makes pages of magazines, creating wall art is the best. Make collages by cutting out shapes, patterns, or images and then in a nice outline stick them on the wall or pin them to boards.

Colourful old papers can be repurposed into gift wraps if there isn't anything typed or written on them. You can either wrap them around presents or make small bows out of them to stick on top of the present.

Although time-consuming, making a paper basket can also be great as a home decor. Cut some paper into thin strips and weave them together to make a basket. Then, colour it up and glue a jute rope to the side. Put in your keys, and rings, inside this custom basket that is also a decor piece.

To make Origami art, take some colourful pages from magazines or old wrapping paper and fold them into origami flowers, cranes, stars, or other shapes. Then hang them on the walls or put them near the bed or side tables.

Making paper coasters is another great option to repurpose old paper. Cut the used sheets into small squares or circles of equal size and layer them together with glue to create a thick, sturdy base. Once the glue is dry, seal the coasters with some resin and they are ready.

If there are any pink or rose-coloured papers lying around, soften them and then cut them into petal-like shapes. Then get a hard silver thread and poke the paper through it to make it look like a flower garland. Hang it wherever you like for the perfect decor.
