Features

  • MiKTeX can be run directly from the CD-R

What is a CD-R?

A CD-R (Compact Disc Recordable) is a WORM (Write Once, Read Multiple) media with a net capacity of 650 or 700 MB. CD-Rs and conventional CDs (you buy in a store) are not physical identical: CD-Rs are burned with a laser (CD recorder), whereas conventional CDs are pressed in a factory. While they're not physically identical, they work just the same.

Hardware Requirements

Your system must be equipped with a CD player which can read 700MB (80-minute) CD-Rs.

Software Requirements

MiKTeX requires one of the following Windows versions:

  • Windows XP Home / Professional
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows Me
  • Windows 98
  • Windows NT 4.0 (with Internet Explorer 4.0 or later)
  • Windows 95 (with Internet Explorer 4.0 or later)
