2004 Inductees
Jim Foglesong A former CMA Chairman of the Board, Jim Foglesong has been an integral part of the Country Music community. He began his extensive career with Columbia Records in New York City in 1951. From there he was chosen to head Columbia’s sister label, Epic Records. In 1963, he became RCA Records Executive Producer, which made him one of the first out-of-town producers to record in Nashville. After moving to Nashville in 1970, Foglesong was named President of ABC/Dot Records, where he helped introduce Roy Clark and Donna Fargo to the world. In 1979, he was named President of MCA Nashville, moving on to become President of Capitol Records five years later. During this time, Foglesong oversaw and helped further the careers of Country Music stars such as Garth Brooks, John Conlee, Reba McEntire, George Strait and many more. Foglesong, now 82, works with the Nashville music community as a consultant, independent producer, and trustee of the Country Music Foundation.
