The Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile flight test program added two more successes to the system’s record during recent tests conducted at White Sands Missile Range, N.M.

2.14.2006 - ACC announces Eubanks, LeMay award winners  
The General Curtis E. LeMay Award (large base) and Major General Eugene L. Eubanks (small base) were established by the National Orders of Daedalians in 1965 and 1990 respectively to recognize the Air Force Services program. Each major command nominates one base in each category.

2.14.2006 - Musicians produce one-of-a-kind sound  
Unique – one word that sums up the Heritage of the Air Force Band’s newest ensemble.
The five Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble members are the only musicians assigned to the Air Force band who are dedicated to Celtic music. They are the only Air Force personnel authorized to wear the Billy Mitchell tartan since the Air Force pipe and drum corps in Washington D.C. was disbanded in 1964.

The 2006 U.S. Air Force Environmental Training Symposium, an educational training program for nearly 2,000 members of the Air Force, other government agencies and national academia is slated for Feb. 27 through March 3 at the David Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.

They call themselves “the ghosts of the base.” They stand in the background, silently observing Third Country Nationals with a watchful eye. Their work almost goes unnoticed, but the 379th Force Protection Security Escort Flight plays a critical role in base security.
