FAQ's

How far apart can my trees be to hang my hammock?

The optimum distance between trees for hanging a deluxe hammock is 15 feet. For a single hammock, 12 feet of distance is needed. If the trees are less than the recommended distance, it will be necessary to raise the location of the tree hooks.

How far in the ground must a pole be to support my hammock?

If you are not using a hammock stand or trees to hang your hammock, supports can be buried into the ground from which the hammock can be hung. These supports can be metal or wooden poles. The poles must be buried in the ground to a depth of 1.5 to 2 feet . Additionally, the support poles must be cemented following the package instructions for the cement mixture.

How high do I need to hang my hammock?

The recommended distance from the ground for placement of the tree hook is between 4 and 5 feet. If your supports are closer than the above recommended distance, the tree hooks should be raised.

How do I clean my hammock?

Rope hammock - mild solution of soap and water in a bath tub, then air dry. Try to keep the spreader bars out of the water as much as possible. Quilted hammock - mild solution of soap and water and use a scrub brush. Hose off completely, then air dry. Also, bleach or spot remover can be used for problem areas.

If my hammock appears too short for the stand, how do I make it work?

Verify that the size of the hammock and the stand are compatible, i.e., a deluxe or large hammock requires a large stand (15’ Length) and a single hammock requires a small stand (11’ Length). If your hammock and stand are compatible, the appearance of the hammock being “too short” for the stand is due to the fact that the hammock, when first out of the packaging, is in an “unstretched state.” With the first use, the hammock will stretch from 1 to 2 feet . You may need to use a small extension of chain during the initial hanging. Once the hammock is hung and you have been able to sit in the hammock, stretching will occur and the hammock then should fit the stand properly.

How do I disassemble the stand?

To loosen the poles, try twisting the poles or gently tapping on the joints with a rubber mallet.

How do I touch up my stand?

Automotive touch-up paint can be used to cover any exposed metal to inhibit rust. Touch up paint also is available by calling our Customer Service line. The touch up paint is available in a “nail polish” size bottle for small touch-ups of scratches in the finish
