Migraine headaches affect roughly 12% of the population and are often very disabling. They can be extremely painful. People experience migraine symptoms such as nausea, sensitivity to light, sensitivity to sound or the appearance of visual auras. There are a host of factors that can trigger an attack such as changes in weather, trigger foods and stress. Women may also experience menstrual migraines whereby hormonal changes also trigger migraine. Treating migraines can be done with medication or by using relaxation techniques. In addition caffeine and caffeine-containing medications have been seen as an effective way to deal with this type of headache.
