Children have great imaginations and sometimes that can keep kids from falling asleep. Monsters and scary creatures are manifestations of fears that usually surface when the lights go out and it's time for bed. Parents are advised to acknowledge the fear, yet also comfort the child that there is no danger. Fears should be discussed well before bedtime, nightlights may be used and an extra kiss is always recommended. Experts also suggest a regular and soothing bedtime routine.
