The EU-Japan Friendship Week was initiated in 2001. It is an integrated programme of social, cultural, academic and sports events taking place around the Europe Day on 9 May. Friendship Week aims to mix fun, friendly exchanges with information, and endeavours to give the Japanese public a chance to learn more about the European Union..
