Technical Manager, Corporate Partnerships Team

Salary: £19,865 to £28,698

Duration: The post is for 1 year initially, based in Cambridge.

Fauna & Flora International works with the private sector to try to ensure that business activities are not undertaken at the expense of biodiversity. Such partnerships, be they with local business initiatives or multinational companies, offer tremendous scope to influence corporate behaviour and increase environmental responsibility. We are seeking technical support to help us implement and develop new and future corporate partnerships, including:

  • Undertaking site level biodiversity risk assessments and action plans in conjunction with our corporate partners.
  • Working with companies to enable them to integrate biodiversity into their day to day business activities (policy, strategy and management tools).
  • Development of new opportunities to collaborate with the private sector on biodiversity related initiatives.
  • Provide technical support in the development of appropriate indicators to measure the impact of corporate biodiversity programmes on biodiversity.

Temporary Communications Assistant

Salary: £20,000 (pro rata for an initial six month contract)

We are looking for a creative and adaptable Communications Assistant to help produce materials and publications, write and edit copy, update this website and support communications, media and fundraising projects.

This position would suit a proactive multi-tasker with strong design, writing and proofreading skills. This is a great opportunity for the right person to make their first move into communications in the conservation sector. You will get involved in a variety of projects and will able to work on your own initiative. You’ll join a lively and hard-working team and will support cutting-edge conservation programmes.

Cambodia Country Programme Manager

Salary: USD12,000 to USD18,000.

Duration: initial 12 month contract.

Fauna & Flora International's Cambodia Programme began in 2000 with biodiversity surveys of the Cardamom mountains range. It now has projects focusing on conservation of the Cardamoms landscape, conserving Asian elephants and the Siamese Crocodile and training conservation scientists with the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

Fauna & Flora International is looking for a manager for its Cambodia programme. The position will be based in Phnom Penh but travel for supervision of the programme will be required.

The objective of the position is to ensure the effective management and timely and efficient delivery of the programme. Under the immediate supervision of the Asia Pacific Regional Director the Cambodia Programme Manager will be responsible for all elements of the programme.

The successful candidate will have a M.Sc. or equivalent experience in nature conservation, conservation biology, ecology, geography or a related discipline. They will have had at least five years of experience in nature conservation and five years of experience with project management. They will be able to demonstrate the ability to work with government and local community partners and as part of a team. Familiarity with Cambodia’s government organizations for forestry and environmental protection will be an advantage as will experience of working with international organizations. Competency with standard word processing and spreadsheet programmes will be valuable, and fluency in spoken and written English and Cambodian is essential. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the conservation of Cambodia’s natural heritage.
