Nyko's Wii classic controller Wiimote grip

A decent answer to a stupendous design flaw in the Wii, Nyko will release a clip to keep your classic controller and Wiimote together. We reported on a home made version of this before, which begged the question of where to wrap the cord. The Nyko version solves that with the"cord management system." By "system" they mean some extra space to wrap the cord around. The attachment's release date is still a nebulous Q2, but we do know it will retail for $14.99.

Well, it looks like Nyko is bringing on the random Wii related products we knew we wanted, but weren't getting from the big Nin of the tendo. The Nyko Wii recharge station is still the only one we've seen on the market -- what are MadCatz and Joytech waiting for?

I'm always doubtful of third party products like this. But this seems like a good solution.

Couldn't have said it better myself (which raises the question, why did I even post?).

What's so hard about having the Wii-mote on the floor, in your lap, on your side, etc? It's hardly an inconvienience.

14.99 when the actual classic controller is only five bucks more? C'mon.

I think I would rather have my Wiimote in my lap as opposed to on the classic controller. I hardly ever notice that I have the Wiimote tethered to my Wiimote, and something like this would only make the classic controller have some weight to it.

If anything, I would rather see a wireless receiver that attaches to the back of the classic controller. Just a small receiver that plugs in so the classic controller becomes a standalone controller.
Uh, the point of the clip is for future games that will use both the Classic Controller and the Wiimote at the same time. It's basically gonna be like a sixaxis, as you have access to conventional control plus motion sensing, but this time you also have rumble, and an IR pointer.

Just what we need - another story about how to jam another controller onto the Wii-mote. What a great system.

Jesus, people.

Just so long as MadCatz doesn't end up making one. In my experience, every MadCatz product I've ever owned has either broken, or not worked particularly well in the first place (usually due to cheap parts or design flaws). I've had somewhat better luck with Pelican, and much better luck with Nyko. As far as I'm concerned, this product is go.

I'm in the "Is this necessary?" camp. I like having a light/non battery filled controller in my hands for playing virtual console games. You could have a completely wireless classic controller: it would be heavier, it would be pricier by $10-$20, and you would have to replace its batteries.

Maybe everyone's playing virtual console games standing up without pockets, so they've got no place to put their Wiimote.

Step 1: There's slots on the back of the Classic Controller
Step 2: You could attach the Wiimote there.
Step 3: You must attach the Wiimote there?

Kids these days. I remember back when our controllers were tethered down with iron weights.. AND WE LIKED IT THAT WAY, TOO.

When I was your age, the only portable gaming device I had was a Pac-Man arcade cabinet that I strapped to my back and carried to school to play at lunch.

Well, I HAVE seen other recharging products other then the Nyko one, my friend bought one. It was a battery pack that had a short USB cable coming out of it, that you would plug into the wii.

He traded it back in two days later, it sucked. Hard.

Trying to use the analog sticks on the Classic Controller is extremely uncomfortable since you have no place to rest your palms. This is a great solution to that problem.
The Classic controller should have had a Wiimote clip from the get-go. That way, devs would have the option of using classic controls with motion.
