TMZ has learned Britney Spears had quite the interaction today with L.A. County Commissioner Scott Gordon, and she dug a hole deeper than a Louisiana swamp.
We're told Spears had a back and forth with the Commish that lasted approximately 40 minutes. She constantly interrupted him and at times was extremely sarcastic. At one point she started thanking the judge for what he had done but her tone was heavily laced with disdain.
We're told the Commish explained to Spears how she had gotten to the point she's at -- why defying the various orders she was supposed to comply with raised concerns that she was not a responsible person. Spears didn't get it. She was at times contentious, argumentative and condescending.
We're told K-Fed's lawyer didn't object to her testimony, it was so bad. One description of today's testimony, pretty simple -- "Appalling."

Britney Spears will get one overnight visit with her kids per week -- at least for now.
L.A. County Court Commissioner Scott Gordon partially accepted her lawyer's plea to give Spears monitored overnight visitation. Spears, who was in court, was sworn in as the afternoon hearing began. She testified, but we don't know what she said.
Spears left the courtroom visibly upset. The overnight visits will be monitored. The parties have not reached an agreement on choosing a different monitor than the one who is already in place.
A court spokesman said today was the result of a compromise between the two sides -- Brit wanted more, K-Fed didn't want her to have any overnights.
K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said after the hearing that he met with Brit's lawyers during the lunch hour. The attorneys told the court that they all agreed to "slightly increase" Brit's visitation. In other words, K-Fed agreed to give Brit a break, and a chance.
Kaplan said protections were in place for the kids.

"From Justin to Kelly" never looked so good! To add insult to injury, Kimberley's name is even spelled wrong in one instance.
At this rate, it won't be long before Bo Bice is at a multiplex near you -- singing in the parking lot!

TMZ just received promo materials for the new season of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Orange County," and we were shocked --
shocked! -- to see that Jo De La Rosa and Slade Smiley, the spiciest couple in the O.C. since L.C. and Jason Wahler, were nowhere to be found! Where'd they go?!
Sources tell TMZ that the pair -- no longer an item -- declined Bravo's request for them to star on season three. We're told Jo had a commitment to her record label, and, more importantly, was over the show. Fear not, though, we've learned Jo (and Slade -- if you can stand it) could be getting their own "Hills"-esque spin-off, which will chronicle Jo's climb to musical stardom. Paging Heidi Montag! In fact, we're told Jo's label has hired one of Britney's songwriters to pen her stuff. Wait- is that a good idea right now?

The 48-year-old former shiksa was raised Catholic, and converted to Judaism five years ago.
L'chaim! Earlier this year, Mare released an album of country/bluegrass/Jewish/folk songs entitled "
Refuge Rock Sublime," which includes the tracks, "What Would David Do," "A Convert Jig" and the Israeli National Anthem,"Hatikva."

TMZ is in the hallway -- and Brit's just walked into the courtroom.
She's wearing a black shirt and jeans, and her hair is down. She's carrying her ever-present white purse and is drinking a Coke -- regular, not Diet.
We sat and watched as Britney was sworn in by the Commisioner. Then her lawyer asked all of the media to leave. The nerve!
Brit is sporting black sunglasses -- in court. The Commish, however, says that's cool. She's got a "
medical condition" that requires her to wear them. As we told you, that condition is shared by Sean Preston, Jayden James and K-Fed -- pink eye!

Consistent hip-hop hit-maker Pharrell hit up the Hennessy Artistry Party at Paramount Studios last night, and when a TMZ photog asked to see his blinged-out timepiece, he quipped, "It's just a Casio." And diamonds are just shiny little rocks.
Also in L.A., crooner Robin Thicke and former "Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency" idiot Marcus Foy, who was kind enough to give TMZ a

UPDATE:
It seems that Brit's court event was delayed, and she did eventually show up, which precluded her making it to the dance studio in time. Britney Spears not only didn't show for her custody hearing in an L.A. court this morning, TMZ has learned that she also bailed on dancers scheduled to audition for her new video and tour. Tour?
Brit Brit apparently decided to bail on
everyone this morning. She was a no-show for the auditions, leaving dancers steamed when her new assistant called Millennium Dance Studio in North Hollywood and canceled.
"Over 50 girls waited for her to show this morning -- for over an hour," said our source. Auditions are supposed to be rescheduled. Hopefully, the dancers will be more receptive than the judge.
