Stargate SG-1: Talion

Stargate SG-1 Talion

(S10E17) Greetings! You were probably expecting to see Will O'Brien in this spot. Unfortunately, the stress of home buying and moving burnt the young man out. He's now resting comfortably at the Sunnyside Egg Recovery Center for the Home Buyer and I hear that the nightmares are only coming every other night. While he recuperates I will be handling reviews on the last four episodes of Stargate SG-1.

Boston Legal: Trial of the Century (season finale)

Denny Crane!(S03E24) Before I forget, I have to say that Brad's baby is adorable. Great casting. OK, now that I've got that out of the way...

This was a near perfect season finale with the firm of Crane Poole & Schmidt swinging for the fences. With Jerry and Clarence suing a casino and Denny guaranteeing a win this episode was way out of bounds. The fact that Alan had the balls to refer to himself and Denny as a comedy team was awesome.

I really appreciated seeing Denny questioning his own usefulness. Personally, I can really relate. There comes a time in everyone's life when you have to recognize that your life is not what it used to be, and to imagine other people seeing you differently than they used to can be a scary thought. As funny as it is to see him make a fool of himself, it was nice to see both Denny and Shatner putting things in perspective.

House: Human Error (season finale)

house finale
(S03E23) Here's something I found odd about tonight's episode, though not really having to do with it being a season finale. Why is it that a seemingly not-so-well-off Cuban couple can go through great pains to find House, and yet this is what I believe to be the first time a foreign patient has sought out House's expertise?

Veronica Mars: Weevils Wobble But They Don't Go Down / The Bitch Is Back (series finale)

(S03E19/S03E20)
Well now I'm pissed. As if I wasn't already pissed before this episode aired, they go and end things with a big ol' fizzle. Unfortunately for all of us, Rob Thomas took a gamble that the series would get picked up for a new season, so we're left what feels very, very much like a season ender, not a series ender. And sorry, but a flash-forward reboot retooling can't possibly clear up the loose ends we're left with after this episode.

With that said, even though we all know this was a series ending episode, this was pretty decent for a season ender.

The Shield: The Math of the Wrath

Shane and Ronnie

(S06E08) "We're not clean in this either. And I'm not spending the rest of my life wearing state property." -Ronnie

I'm gonna make a bold statement that'll probably insult some readers: If you don't watch this show, you're dumb. Plain and simple. Nothing else on TV is as well-written, layered, and intricate as The Shield. There's another well-known cable drama with a prominent anti-hero about to end its run. Something about the Jersey mob and its high strung boss. You know that guy I'm talking about? Well, he can't hold a candle to Vic Mackey.

Dancing With The Stars: Week 10

Laila & Maksim(S04E18) As Tom said, "Ten weeks, and it all comes down to this." We could argue about the order of the eliminations, who should have stayed longer (Shandi), and who hung around way too long (Billy Ray). But I think in the end, the right teams made it to the finals. There has been a lot of dancing over the previous nine weeks, and after all of it, these are the three teams that stood out above the rest.

With only three teams left, and the big disco ball on the line, each team has three performances to do this week. One is held off for the results show, but tonight we got to see each of them in the Judge's Choice round, and the much anticipated Freestyle. Let's get to it.

Heroes: How to Stop an Exploding Man (season finale)

Heroes Season Finale

(S01E23) In honor of the Heroes season finale, tonight we're mixing things up a bit.

There's going to be a live chat during the show so you can post your "I hate the reviewer" comments in real-time! The full review will be posted in this space later this evening (the review is below).

22 episodes ago the season began with a bang. Will we be seeing one tonight?

The Sopranos: The Second Coming

Tony and Silvio(S06E19) After last week's big development with Christopher being offed by Tony Soprano, we were probably due for a letdown as far as developments go, but that was definitely not the case. Meadow decided that she felt like being part of the storyline for the first time in awhile, and we all knew that A.J.'s situation was bound to go one way or another, but how quickly might have come as a surprise.

When it comes to the drama classification, this show always makes the cut. But this week, for some reason, I felt like it meshed even more than usual with that genre with all that went on throughout the episode. When it all boils though, the family ties were what made this show so successful, and they're what keeps the drama flowing. Except for the fact that we've all got to wait two weeks to see how our Sopranos is going to get ready to close up shop, I think we're in for a quality run that everyone can get behind.

Supernatural: All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 2 (season finale)

Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver - Supernatural
(S02E22) "Something big is going down. End of the world big."

The big season finale picked up right where we left off. Sam really is dead. As we found out later in the episode, Jake (Aldis Hodge) cut right through his spinal cord. It made for a nice scene for Jensen Ackles. We've seen time and again how focused Dean is on protecting Sam. So, in a move that surprised nobody, Dean went down to the crossroads, fell down on his knees...

Grey's Anatomy: Didn't We Almost Have It All (season finale)

ELLEN POMPEO and KATHERINE HEIGL

(S03E25) For all the negative stuff that's been said about Grey's Anatomy this season, I think they turned out a pretty solid season finale. It made sense, stories ended logically, and let's be honest - it was way better than last season's "prom in a hospital" mess. All the bases were covered. The exams, the wedding, the Meredith/McDreamy relationship status, and the race for chief. Of course the one thing on everyone's mind (the identity of Derek's flirtatious bar encounter) was revealed too. I'm not overly obsessed with what happens next. It was just a comfortable ending with some questions that I'm in no rush to get answers to. I like where that leaves us though because it means we can start fresh in the fourth season and hopefully leave behind some of the things that made this season so lackluster.

Lost: Greatest Hits

Mira Furlan(S03E21) This episode was all about building suspense for the big season finale, and mission accomplished. Several big questions were answered, but not the one that fans were hoping for. If we weren't at the end of the season, I would complain about not getting an immediate update on Locke, but I can wait one more week. After Desmond's upsetting prediction, there had to be another Charlie-centric episode, and this one was surprising--to say the least.

The Flashback

Charlie's flashback was made up of his life's greatest hits--his favorite experiences and memories. His first great moment was hearing Driveshaft's "You All Everybody" playing on the radio for the first time. Charlie was close to quitting the band on the way to their gig in Clitheroe (I'm sure Clitheroe's residents loved the shout-out) when the band's luck finally improved.

Criminal Minds: No Way Out, Part II: The Evilution of Frank (season finale)

Gideon(S02E23) "Frank's back." - Morgan

Just like last year, Criminal Minds knows how to properly handle a season finale. This was a spectacular episode, and even thought it ended with a cliffhanger that came completely out of left field, I still ate up every second of it.

Frank, the most prolific serial killer ever, has returned and this time he's out to get Gideon. First off though, I have to say - I am terrified of Keith Carradine. Man... that guy is creepy. However, he played his part to perfection and it made for a thoroughly engrossing chase.

Heroes: Landslide

Sylar turns in a fugitive

(S01E22
) This episode got off to a quick start picking up right where we left off last week with Peter Petrelli on the verge of combustion. Peter nearly had Claire shoot him as they had previously discussed, but fortunately, he seemed to gain control of his newly absorbed power.

Which brings me to this question: Why is it Peter can absorb powers by standing next to someone, but Sylar has to "rip your head open" to quote Claire? I'm sure someone will let me know in the comments. I'm guessing it's not just a personal preference.

Peter's involvement from this point forward was fairly limited, but we can see from the previews that all hell is going to break loose next week, and Peter and Sylar will have their much anticipated standoff.

Entourage: The Resurrection

Eric and Vince

(S03E18) "Don't tell me you whack off to The Warriors..." -Ari

One of the things that's impressed me about this second half of Entourage's third season, is the way the show has grown. It's evolved into something much more than just a comedy program full of fart and boob jokes. Even the episodes that aren't loaded with the funny can still be excellent and this installment was no exception. To see where our four main characters were once at and where they've ended up is just very cool to watch. Drama's personal growth has been something of a hardship (that's putting it lightly) and to see him finally achieve success is immensely rewarding for a viewer.

Desperate Housewives: What Would We Do Without You?

mike delfino(S03E22) I know this is going to sound absolutely insane, but I like Edie better now than I ever had before. I know she gets more and more manipulative with every episode, but she also becomes more human. It's not like she isn't completely predictable. If Carlos doesn't know her well enough by now to figure out that she is lying about wanting a baby, then I don't really think we can put all the blame on her just because he's a moron. I know that Carlos desperately wants a baby (a son, apparently), but is he really blind to how Edie has treated Travers for his entire life up until recently?
