New Advance Wars gets date, confirmation, name

Apparently, Nintendo has been working in secret on the new Advance Wars game, officially dubbed Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. As of right now, the game is only months away, with a release date in place for January 21st. With some fresh footage of the title hitting the nets, we find ourselves quite happy for the release date, because our date of birth is only a few days before (the 18th, if you must know).

Who's with us in being immeasurably excited?

1. Dual Strike (dumb name) is hands down the most compelling game for me on the platform. I have played all three AW games into the floor. In terms of replayability, in my view, unparalleled on the DS.

And January 21st can come fast enough.

Would love to see this blown up and enhanced on multiplayer 'roids on the Wii.

2. Any word on online play yet?

As far as I'm concerned they could release the exact same Advance Wars: DS game and just add online play and I would still buy it the day it comes out.

3. Wow! I can't wait, I just hope Fire Emblem doesn't come out around the same time, I like to obsess over my strategy games for a few months :)

4. If it has online multiplayer I'll get it. If not, I probably won't. Dual Strike is a lot of fun but I could never get through the single player campaign because I'd never save a mission if I didn't get a perfect score, lol.

5. I have also played all of the Advance Wars games repeatedly, and Advance Wars DS is the reason I first purchased a DS. I have been waiting for a decent SRPG for the DS since, and in the meantime have gotten Jeanne d'Arc for the PSP and will get Final Fantasy Tacics for the PSP as well. On the other hand, there is no SRPG (or any game for that matter) that matches the Advance Wars series for me. January 21 will be marked on my calendar.
