We're not saying a Web apps directory is a bad idea. In fact, it's nice to have a single place to go for a list of online services that look good on a small touch-sensitive screen. But we'd be more impressed if you could calculate tips, convert measurements, or play Soduku without firing up Safari.
And honestly, we'd have thought Apple would have put together this list as soon as the iPhone was launched and kept it up to date. As it is, dozens of 3rd party websites and blogs have started keeping track of all the applications out there.
1. As an iPhone owner myself I guess this is useful but doing everything through the web means we will just need to charge our battery even more causing us to need a new battery in under a year. Personally I don't want this experience because while my battery is getting replaced what will I do for a phone with all my contacts? Apple needs to listen to their customers considering without customers they wouldn't have a business at all, and allow apps to be installed on the phone itself (even if the apps are made by Apple). It is ridiculous and don't get me started about the ringtones that cost a dollar a pop.
