The Armory 07.Sep.2007 @ 12:48 AM
I started writing my guild application last November (GuildMaster Pro). In order to accomplish everything I wanted to, it involved learning LUA and writing my own mod to collect the data I wanted.

I had a half written application and was slowly catching on to LUA and modding when this new thing was introduced called the WOW Armory which solved nearly all my data collection problems. Blizzard was brilliant enough to not make the data HTML, but styled XML data which is oh so useful from a web programming perspective. And although the armory is exceptionally useful and has already underwent a number of improvements, there's a bunch of things I think need to be there.

Here's a short list of what I think's missing (starred items are critical).

Character Profiles
- I know reputation says a lot regarding BC keys, but simply listing the contents of the key bag would be useful in determining what a person is and isn't keyed for.
-* Recipes. There needs to be a profession tab with a list of all the recipes a character can make. This one's pretty critical.

Guild Profiles
-* There needs to be a Guild Raids tab that reports when there was a raid, who was there for how long, what was killed in the raid and who received what items.
- A Guild Bank tab when the guild bank is implemented in a future patch. This includes all items AND gold.

I guess this is just a rant as I'm writing this application and suffering a number of limitations on what I want to do vs. what I actually can do. I love the WOW Armory and hope there's much more to come.

I know glowchart updates are long overdue. multitasking FTL. They're coming.
