i-Real: more umph than the Segway?
At first glance, the new i-Real concept from Toyota looks awesome. Instead of your boring old, slow-moving Segway, this bad boy has a third wheel that extends from the back -- which makes you think you'd be traveling so fast that the extra stability/slightly more aerodynamic posture would be necessary.
But no. While there are plenty of cool features on the i-Real -- such as maneuverability in confined spaces, and the fact that it's completely battery-powered -- the personal mobility gadget still has a top speed of only 18 mph. Not that you'd want to haul down the highway in one of those, but I'd prefer not to get passed up by fist-waving moped drivers, annoyed that my i-Real was holding up their commute.
