In Puerto Rico the situation is worst. No word yet on when the iPhone will be available.
This is ridiculous since:
1. The main cell phone service provider in PR is AT&T; with full coverage even 3G.
2. Puerto Rico is a US commonwealth, ruled by the same government.
3. Communications are regulated by the FCC.
In Puerto Rico I can go to any Radioshack or CompUSA and purchase all other iPods including the touch exept the iPhone.
I can go to any ATT or radiohsack and purchase any of their phones except the iPhone.
Canada has different goverment, different service providers and different market prices.

There's also the question of data rates. AT&T;'s ROAMING DATA RATES are Canada's DOMESTIC fucking DATA RATES. So if the data rates stay as is, and if the iPhone stays as is, having an iPhone in Canada will be tantamount to having a little vacuum cleaner in your wallet.

I don't see why after all Apple does not respect registered trade marks and if you don't agree they just launch the product and let you fight it out (Linksys iPhone). Sure Linksys did not use the name as well as they could have but lets not forget it was REGISTERED. Apple couldn't force Cisco to do what they wanted plus Cisco has a far larger market cap, more cash in the bank and they have some very tough lawyers. End result the might Steve-O is not that mighty.
On a side note why bother with iPhone 1.0 Steve-O stated in London iPhone 2.0 is due out next year so just wait and get the better product. I don't own an iPhone and I do suggest others not buy it and look for a device that is unlocked, user customizable with the apps you want when you want and full featured.
