Weekly Webcomic Wrapup: Ludwig already did it

"Wake up, Ross, this is the online manifestation of your conscience."

"Hey Ludwig, what's up?"

"I couldn't help but notice the headline to your wrapup this week, the Interview Edition."

"Yeah, I thought it'd be cute."

"It was cute ... when I did it in February."

"Curses! Okay, how about this ... "

The conversation continues after the break. In the meantime, here are our picks for the week's best game-related webcomics. Be sure to vote for your favorite!

Congratulations are in order

"What about mad libs?"

"I did it in June."

"I could somehow incorporate that book I was writing ..."

"Was it noir?"

"Ack! Okay, I'll just find some elaborate excuse for using invisible text."

"I used microtransactions."

"I'm feeling vexed, here. A picture of a cute puppy?"

"Mmm hmm, January 19."

"A lolcat?"

"No. Just no."

"I can always just ask the readers from what country they're reading the site."

"Well, I've never done that ..."

"Sweet!"

" ... but you did, back in April."

"I hate you so much right now, I could lock you into a bomb shelter and convince you that the apocalypse has hit so that I can take your spot in Andrew Yoon's birthday party."

"You could do that, but just know that you'd be copying South Park."

DA today. Almost went for DU.

I swear, PA is losing it's touch. All their jokes are just fart, dick, vagina, peeing, rape.

RPG-TV definitely wins it this week. Poor Sony.

Not. :p

No, he didn't whip it out.

If it had been an option I would have voted for it. Not sure if that speaks more about the picture or this week's selection of comics...

The RPG-TV comic gave me a good laugh, but the rest were boring to me. I've to agree with Neebs, PA is steadily losing its touch, and Scott Ramsoomair can do something better than that. =/

Also, Ludwig, is that really you in that picture? I always thought you were going to be about 29-30 years old, but I guess I was wrong.

So, why does everyone hate Navi? I used to love hearing the "hey", "watch out!", and "listen" phrases. Maybe I'm just weird like that.

I think the biggest problem wasn't when you were playing the main quest, but the side quests. You'd be tracking down skulltula's, getting the biggeron sword, fishing, and she'd just constantly scream at you. Or any time a new gameplay element like... ladders or walking was introduced, she'd be right there as well.

I'm having that same problem right now in Phantom Hourglass. This paraphrases my reaction to one of MANY pointless conversations and how I wish my Link, named NME, could respond.

Fairy: Hey, look! Those Phantoms are Red. They aren't at all like the Blue Ones earlier.
NME: One would assume by the color variation that they would be a stronger phantom.
Fairy: They're stronger phantoms! You'll have to be more careful around them!
NME: You know, I've been gaming for years and this IS my fourth fucking trip to this temple, thus far. Different color usually means stronger. I mean, hell, even the gels in this pissant little island tell me this natural progression.
Fairy: I bet the red ones even hit harder too...
NME: I thought they would do nice things, like grant wishes....
Fairy: ...
NME: Y'know? You remind me of the babe...

I hear you on that one. I've played all the Zelda games since the beginning and I can totally agree on the hint system. I don't mind the gossip stones being in the game for hints, mainly because you don't have to hit them. It does suck when your fairy keeps telling you what to do or where to go all the time. Ah well, such is life.

I should clarify my earlier post though. I liked it when Navi said "Watch out!" It was the way it was she said it that made me feel as though she was generally concerned about Link. OOT really played up that relationship well throughout the game and I kind of miss not having a fairy helping me out anymore, although Midna did a nice job in TP.

I really wonder what they're going to do for the next Zelda. I mean everything is up in the air at this point; the graphics, the control, the story. We'll probably find out in 2009.

I found the fairy in PH a lot more tolerable than navi, because she added conversation at appropriate moments and didn't really interrupt gameplay to do so... the n64 sound clips at the beginning scene made me chuckle though... ahh navi...

May be more of an Anime reference then a game comic, but you might like this if you like Full Metal Alchemist:

Thanks for the support! We are still relatively new and are still learning the ropes and experimenting with new ideas. Where we place on the poll means nothing to us, just glad to be on it.

So, 'if you kindly' check us out every Monday, that would be great. (Bioshock anyone?)
