Let us stand in awe of the wide range of places where green cars pop up these days. We find them at the Republican debate, the Tokyo Motor Show (natch) and in a contest to win a Lego Star Destroyer. Speaking of which, just how green were those Star Destroyers? Probably not very...

Part II of our busy weekend coverage brings you not only the first four (of six) Yamaha eco-bike posts, but also the head-turning news that Sam's Club (yes, the Wal-Mart store) will sell lithium-ion electric cars this Christmas. Who knew? For the rest, why not start your day off with Honda making fun of the Prius in this ad.

Look at those cute eyes; they should be able to do so much more than help you park the car, shouldn't they? The droid co-pilot there is part of Nissan's Pivo 2, an unusual vehicle destined for the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. This just might be the car you're looking for (waves hand).

There was a lot more green car news from the weekend's posts on AutoblogGreen. We'll have the Saturday and Sunday round-up in a little bit.

Whether someone's smashing up a Tesla Roadster or beating up on Thomas "Flat World" Friedman, things haven't been dull over at AutoblogGreen. Yesterday, also we put up a lot of videos from AltWheels Boston, a wide-ranging green car show. Check them out below.

The issue of too-quiet hybrids (and electric cars) posing a danger to the vision impaired is back, thanks to a new push by the U.S. National Federation of the Blind. Speaking of publicity push, GM and Johnson Controls say the government has gotta made good with some cash to get sweet new hybrid/electric car batteries into the real world.

From Agent 00?: Need more information on unknown white road airplane seen in center surveillance photograph. Please advise.

From HQ: We believe it to be the Aptera. ETA unknown, but it is affirmative that that thing looks weird. Not recommended for spy use. See AutoblogGreen for more. HQ out.

How proud is GM of the new Tahoe hybrid? So proud they call it a "big ass hybrid." AutoblogGreen found that out when we went to Boston for the AltWheels event. If you couldn't make it to Beantown, there are plenty of other places to go. For example, you can pay Jay Leno's Green Garage a virtual visit.

You can almost hear the car companies shoving each other out of the way these days to make sure people know about the green cars they are working on for release in the next few years. The most recent examples: the latest news about the Chevy Volt and the new Prius. Perhaps the companies are acting this way because people are pushing themselves to make better, greener cars, whether that means electric drag racing in San Diego or an entire country prepping for plug-in cars in New Zealand.

AutoblogGreen was all over the map yesterday, posting about $7,500 bicycles and eco-RVs, then on a home-converted 88 mpg plug-in Prius and Rep. Dingell's 50-cent-a-gallon tax proposal. Luckily, even though we traveled far and wide for the news, we did it using some sort of composting computer (or something), so it was a carbon-neutral trip.

Hey Autoblog readers - AutoblogGreen knows you just can't get enough of John Neff, so we strongarmed him into joining us for our latest Podcast. Listen to him show you his greener side. Very nice. Other good stuff from yesterday's collection of links = solar-wheels on a bicycle and serious worries about those Prius (and Avalon) floor mats.

We can add one more website to add to the list of purveyors of false green car news: Next Energy News. On Monday, that site posted that Ford was working on a plug-in Escort to be made available in 2010. Turns out, it's not true. Unless, of course, Ford is lying, but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

There as also big news from Tesla yesterday: the Roadster's range has been re-upped to 245 miles a charge but production has been officially delayed. We'll keep waiting.
