Beowulf movie contest: Win free WoW for a year!
The folks at Blizzard have teamed up with Robert Zemeckis and Paramount Pictures to provide you with the opportunity to win a free year World of Warcraft subscription by creatively arranging your screenshots (we know you have them) for their new World of Warcraft Legendary Tales Photo-Journalism Contest. I happen to think this is pretty awesome, if only because I try and take a lot of screenshots. Also, I happen to be looking forward to seeing what Ray Winstone does as Beowulf. Especially since he'll be a digitally animated version of himself. I'm starting to understand why the folks at Blizzard were a natural fit for this movie. (Note, I have no idea if it will be good or not, the last time I saw a Beowulf movie, Christopher Lambert was in it.)The contest rules, written in dreaded legalese, are here. If you're a resident of one of the 48 US States eligible for this contest (sorry, Florida and Rhode Island... if it makes you feel any better, I'm from Rhode Island so I cry alongside you) then you should get busy taking some screenshots and enter. Last day to enter WoW Insider's Brewfest Giveaway
To enter, put a comment on our original post (not this post) by this afternoon at 3pm EST telling us what your favorite drink for Brewfest is. You guys all went with the "in-game" idea, which is fine, but personally, I like drinking out of game a lot better than in-game (in-game drinking just gives me a headache). So for me, Jack and Coke is the drink of choice. For beer, definitely Fat Tire with a meal, or Guinness if it's just a pint at the pub.

WoW Moviewatch: Frame of Mind
This little machinima music video comes with a simple tagline: "Gear can be epic. Friendship can be legendary." Winning first place in the Ataris music video contest, this video is a pop-music version of something I like to see in art and films, sometimes called "visual poetry," where a series of images can convey a symbolic meaning which is open to interpretation by the viewer. It begins very much like many people must start out when they create their first character in WoW, and gradually progresses into something very different. What do you think it means?

To win, just submit a digital scan of an original piece of WoW fan art to our contests email, wowinsidercontests@gmail.com, before September 20th (so two weeks from today). It can be whatever you want-- an ingame NPC, your own character, a scene from Azeroth or its history-- just as long as it's original and it's yours. Then, on September 20th, we'll post the winners, and the best Horde piece will win the Horde Art Card set, and the best Alliance piece will win the Alliance version.
We're rewarding art for art's sake here at WoW Insider, so get out those pencils, crayons, paints, or whatever other medium you want to use, and send us a copy of your piece at wowinsidercontests@gmail.com, and you could be chosen as the best Horde or Alliance artist around.
A few rules apply (as always), and they are found right here. The short version: must be over 17 (13 with parents' permission), and must be a US resident (sorry, EU folks, legal's decision on this one).
