Phew that was close anyway that is pretty damn impressive; you know is a crime that there isn't a PC/XB360 port in the works.

What makes people go ga-ga for this game? Is it the story? It has to be the story, right? The gameplay and graphics didn't seem that mind-blowing.

I feel the same way. I mean unless you're really into MGS, this game really isn't going to appeal to you.
there isnt many sneak game like metal gear and the story is good, there is splinter cell thats well know and what else?
Things I noticed in the clips:
Snake runs like he has a potato chip up his ass and doesn't want to break it
Frame rate dips and jitters frequently, especially during visible explosions.
Graphics are nice and crisp but certainly not cutting edge
Snake has the ass of a 20 year kenyan runner. The japanese sure have funny tastes..
background sound effects were cartoony
Dumb AI? snake stuns/chokes dude with his buddy 5ft away and he doesn't hear it despite dude gagging and choking for 60 second..
Considering how long this game has been in development and the team doing it, it only reenforces the notion that the PS3 is no more powerful than the 360. I pity those poor japanese devs for how much work they put in to get that level of performance out of the ps3.

American's have a funny taste for wrestling guys right? I mean, just look at all of the guys from Gears or all the other shooters...

Almighty Halo 3 had stupid sound effects, even the npc's voices were awful...

if you were a bit smarter, you would do a little research on this title, on the last interview they say that they are still tweaking the AI...

Considering how long Halo 3 was out, the quality of the game was horrendous, and to think that Bungie had put, according to them, their best...to get something as revolutionary as....video recording and a map editor?...
2 can play the same "bashing" game jsn...
