Pirates of the Burning Sea Pre-Order Begins

Two-week head start, special swords and even a soundtrack offered for pre-order players.

Sony Online Entertainment's upcoming pirates and plunder massively multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG), Pirates of the Burning Sea opens for pre-order today at participating retailers.

For those who take the plunge, gamers who pre-order receive a pre-boarding party invite that gives them access to the game 15 days before launch (and keep their loot and characters), a blue and yellow parrot, fighting blades (Swedish Rapier, Old World Steel or Musketeer's) and a copy of the game's 60 minute original soundtrack.

The game itself lets players choose from three nations (England, France or Spain) or choose to play as a pirate -- we're not sure who wouldn't be a pirate though.
